The Den Of Acceptance

When Colleen and I rolled into the first RV park in Yuma, we realized we forgot something.  When we had our unit built, we largely forgot about graphics.  We did have our logo painted on the back, but this still left a lot of surface area that was a plain grey.  We felt this drab color did not reflect who we are or the message we wanted to carry.  I started talking with our salesman Rodney at Dune Sport to find out our options.  He told me if we could supply him graphics, he would ask his paint guy TJ if it was possible to use our design.

Colleen and I discussed what we wanted the design to look like.  We wanted it to be unique, but not over the top.  We were hoping people who saw it would want to learn more about our message.

Over the next month I worked with Jason at C&M Printing to help us with the design.  Jason and I worked together in my last job.  Not only is he a very talented graphic designer, but he also has a knack of taking my abstract and obscure design ideas and make them come to life.  Once again he provided the perfect design.

Rodney confirmed with TJ that he could work with this design.  We were actually at the plant when TJ was doing the work.  Watching him and his team work was really pretty incredible.  TJ has a talent that cannot be understated.  They were able to make 700 square feet of fiberglass come alive.

If there is one word that encompasses what we strive for each day, “Acceptance” would be that word.  We thought “The Den Of Acceptance” is a perfect name for our rig.  Accepting our life situation does not mean we are resigned to it.  It is very easy to look at our challenges and think here are our limitations and resign to a life of just existing each day.  We do not believe that is God’s design for us.  We believe he wants each and every one of us to be happy and to live a fulfilled life.  By practicing acceptance, we acknowledge these challenges and work to adapt to them.  We do not believe these challenges are happening to us, but rather they are happening for us.  So the question then is “Will it make us bitter, or will it make us better”?  This is a question we must answer every day through our attitudes and behaviors.

  1. Hi Patrick & Coleen, Great wording and design !! Acceptance IS really the answer. “Let Go and Let God” or be dragged thru life. It is much easier to follow the life that God gives us. Change is not difficult, it is the resistance to change that drives us nuts. We sure do miss you at 6:30 am

    1. Hello Scott and Pam,

I agree 100%. It took a bit of dragging before I decided to let God. Now that I have, this truly is the easier softer way.

I miss you guys very much. In a few weeks we will leaving Arizona making our way back to Wisconsin. We will arrive sometime in early to mid June.

      With love,

      Patrick
