We Plan And God Laughs

When Colleen and I decided to pursue this way of life and head out on this journey, we started this blog in hopes to document our travels in realtime.  We were looking to accomplish two things:

  1. To capture our experience in the moment
  2. Share our experiences on the road offering hope to those that maybe in a similar situation.

This however did not happen.  With our given circumstances, I grossly underestimated how much time and work this adventure was going to be.  Early on it really bothered me that I was not keeping the blog up.  It was necessary however for me to let it go for the time being.  One thing we did grasp was the magnitude of our travels this year.  We believed this was a once in a lifetime journey for us.  The more I would have focused on content for our blog, less focus would have been placed on our experiences.  That was not a price I was willing to pay.

Our travel experiences this year have been nothing short of amazing.  We never realized the diverse beauty that our country possess.  We are happy that we are able to share these experiences, however there are many blogs and YouTube channels that focus on traveling our country.  We believe the real story is not the places we have visited, but rather our approach to life and the manner in which we choose to live life today.  It is because of these two things that make this way of life possible for us.  Moving forward with our blog we are hoping to be able to effectively communicate this to you.  Along the way, we will weave in stories of people we have met and places we have visited.

We may have a little better understanding of how to live this way of life, but we really are not sure of what our “new normal” will look like.  As we write this, we are on our way back to Arizona to settle down for the winter and prepare for the next chapter in our life.  We will check back with you in a few weeks once we get settled.

  1. Happy settling into Arizona. Think of you both often and what you are doing is amazing. Sending loving thoughts your way.

  2. Thank you for sending me the email to access your videos easily. I met you guys near Madison, where you invited me to share your campfire. It was an evening of lots of discussion about everything, and appreciation for your attitude to life.

    Thank you!
