The Beauty Of The Red Rocks

On our travel to Mesa from Madison last December, we drove through Sedona per the suggestion from our friend Phil.  We were blown away by the beauty of the red rocks.  We knew we had to come back.  We had that opportunity as we headed north.  We decided to spend a week in Camp Verde which is about 30 miles south.  We stayed at a place called Zane Grey Campground.  What a great place.  Very nice, quiet park along with wonderful neighbors.  We met a very nice couple from Ontario, Canada.  We spent an afternoon visiting with them, sharing our stories.  They invited us up to stay at their ranch if we ever made our way up there.  Once again the people we have met on this journey have been simply amazing.

When we went to tour Sedona, we used a service to take us around.  This proved to be a good choice due to how tight the navigation in town is.  We were able to focus on the sights vs. having to worry about navigating our truck through the narrow streets.

There is something quite magical and serene about the red rocks of Sedona.  There are vortexes in different areas of the city.  These vortexes are known to emanate an energy that many people travel from afar to experience.  We stopped at one of these vortexes and I hiked to the top of the rock formation.  I can best explain the sensation as very peaceful and calming.  I was definitely centered while we were here.

Through the day we visited various scenic area including The Chapel of the Holy Cross, Amitabha Stupa and Peace Park.

Phil was right.  Visiting Sedona is an experience you don’t want to miss.
